The magazine “SUS – Pig Breeding and Pig Fattening” is being further developed as the leading medium for pig farmers

Partnership between BRS and LV expanded to include ISN

The magazine “SUS – Pig Breeding and Pig Fattening” is being developed further as an independent, well-founded and widely distributed industry and leading publication in order to provide pig farmers in Germany with even more competent and comprehensive information in the future and to represent their interests more clearly and effectively to policymakers and the public. To this end, the German Association for Cattle and Pig (BRS, owner of SUS) and Landwirtschaftsverlag Münster (LV, publisher of SUS) are bringing the German Pig Farmers’ Association (ISN) on board as a strong cooperation partner.

The German Association for Cattle and Pig (BRS), the German Pig Farmers’ Association (ISN) and Landwirtschaftsverlag Münster (LV) will jointly strengthen and further develop the magazine “SUS – Pig Breeding and Pig Fattening” as an independent, well-founded and widely distributed industry publication. The cooperation will help make the sector’s expertise and concerns even more visible in SUS and strengthen its media presence. To this end, the partners will coordinate strategically and professionally in order to provide high-quality and up-to-date reporting through SUS in addition to their own activities, thereby strengthening SUS’s importance as the leading publication for Germany’s pig farmers.

“SUS is our association magazine, which has been published very successfully by Landwirtschaftsverlag Münster for many years. ISN is now joining as another strong partner. Closer professional exchange will enable us to identify important issues and trends more quickly, bring together different areas of expertise and give the pig farming sector as a whole greater influence,” explains Stephan Schneider, Deputy Managing Director of the BRS.

Dr. Torsten Staack, Managing Director of ISN, adds: “The interests of pig farmers need to be heard – within the industry as well as in Berlin, Brussels and by the general public. SUS is highly respected as a trade magazine for the pig sector in German-speaking countries. It communicates content with great professional depth in an accessible way. By combining our expertise, particularly in the areas of markets and structural development, with SUS’s editorial expertise, we are also increasing the reach of key issues in pig farming. At the same time, we are contributing our perspective and the expertise of pig farmers more specifically to the professional debate.”

“We are very pleased that the following now applies: Together, we are stronger. Especially in times of major change, the pig farming sector needs reliable information, professional analysis and strong voices. Through SUS, we are bringing industry expertise and independent specialist journalism even closer together. SUS is an excellent platform for this, providing pig farmers in Germany with guidance for the future,” says Dr. Ludger Schulze Pals, Managing Director of Landwirtschaftsverlag.

The new cooperation will be officially indicated on the cover and in the masthead of SUS – for the first time in the current EuroTier issue. Initial joint events are being prepared.
