After 30 years of successful cooperation, Landwirtschaftsverlag GmbH in Münster and AVA-Agrar Verlag Allgäu GmbH in Kempten are going their separate ways. With retroactive effect from 1 January 2026, Landwirtschaftsverlag has sold back its shares in AVA-Agrar Verlag Allgäu GmbH. In the future, the shareholders of the founding families will once again run the successful Allgäu-based traditional company on their own.

“This ends a long and successful partnership because it makes strategic sense. In Münster, we are focusing on an ever-closer integration of our strong national specialist and consumer media brands such as ‘top agrar’, ‘Lebensmittel Praxis’ and ‘Landlust’, thereby covering the entire food value chain. AVA-Agrar Verlag Allgäu GmbH concentrates on its main titles ‘Allgäuer Bauernblatt’, ‘Die Allgäuerin’ and ‘Deutsche Molkereizeitung’. There are hardly any synergies to be gained there,” explain Dr. Ludger Schulze Pals and Malte Schwerdtfeger, managing directors of Landwirtschaftsverlag, regarding the reasons for the sale.

“Over the past 30 years, both sides have benefited from each other in many areas. For example, we learned a great deal from Landwirtschaftsverlag about brand building and brand management. In return, Münster was able to experience how to successfully address and win over regional target groups with passion and persistence. Against this background, the cooperation was a real win-win arrangement and, in addition, economically successful. But now is the time for both companies to continue on their own paths. We welcome the fact that Landwirtschaftsverlag Münster still wants to support us with advice,” Andrea Kiechle and Heike Kühnle say on behalf of the four family shareholders of AVA-Agrar Verlag Allgäu GmbH.
